what do you guys recommend

its gonna be powered by a JBL 1200.1

my trunk can fit 40" x 16" x 16"

I want loud bass, where each note of late night tip/throw it up would slam equally hard. I had it in 3 cubes @ 40 hz and the lower end ****** in the back seat but up front it was good. (metered 137 @ 40 in a 4 door trunk car with seats that dont fold down) I dont care about numbers for this, just loud to the ear action. thanks!

Here is a box I just did for mine. They are in 2 cuft per sub at 34hz with aeroports. With those measurements you will get around 5.7 cuft before sub and slot displacement. I don't know if it was just me but it sound's alot better with aeroports.

what kind of change in performance would there be going from 2.5 @ 32 to say 4 @32? positive?

Much better low-end extension and more efficient, but it won't sound as tight.

For low freq. street bass, huge boxes are awesome. Just watch the excursion.
