I was going to wait it out, but dangit if my old school iRiver didn't crap out on me last night. I used to have the original shuffle but lost it a couple months ago. The new shuffle is crazy small, almost scares me. Favorite feature is that I can limit the volume. I have a bad habit of maxing it out but the new iTunes enables you to set a max limit, at any point up to the standard max. I set mine to 75% in case I use it when I mow the yard. $80 for 1gb isn't bad either. Makes me look forward to Monday's workout.

nano's have a breakable screen. why pay for something that i'll likely break? Also, they're quite a bit bigger. I used to ride my bike with a cd player in my pocket. I prefer to move forward with my portable electronics in exercise situations.

I'm really liking the new Nano in terms of build quality and aesthetics ... Much improved over the older ones, much nicer screen, and Blue looks frickin sweet ... I like how easy the player is to use (like all the iPods) ... Of course, the lack of features and iTunes kills it for me, though ...
It's about the closest Apple has come to making an MP3 player I would buy ...
if you're all about sound quality the first gen shuffle is one of the best out there (by far the best in the ipod lineup)

of course it does lack features of a full fledged ipod (or other mp3 player) and doesn't support lossless encoding, but high quality vbr is nearly indistinguishable to most people.

Bull.

I had an ipod nano for over a year, im a hardcore skiier and mountain biker, and have done some nasty stuff to it. Have wrecked, and had it fly out into the dirt, as well as land on it on rocks and stuff.

And skiing i ended up flying down the hill and my ipod got separated from me, and i lost it until i rode the lift back up and spotted it from the lift, skiid back down and grabbed it and it was still playing, with no damage. They arent as fragile as you think they are.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I'll stick with my 4gig mini. That new shuffle looks waaay too small for me. I tend to lose stuff. Trying to find my mind right now!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif
