Bought a truck three months ago...

I bought a 2002 F-150 three months ago and have had nothing but ****ing problems. I went to start it about an hour ago at my girlfriend's house and the **** thing won't turn over, so she took me home.
Advice?

Haha. My brother has an '03, and it has all sorts of problems. Some i can't even figure out... like sometimes his truck will turn over, run for about 5 seconds, no problem, then stall. His girlfriend's brother said this amazing start, "Yo' truck so bobo, it don't even stay start."

But, if it makes a clicking sound, it's the battery. If it tries to turn, but never does, might be the starter, or the wires connected to the starter. That's if it sounds weak. If it sounds like a regular turn over, then I'd say it has something to do with the alarm system or fuel pump.

Let the trouble shooting.... BEGIN!

I bet the Check engine light is on too.
All fords from like 98-03 have it on
This.

My '98 Mustang has a CEL blaring... but it's... wlel, I don't know. It's the ECU, probably. The driver's side runs too lean, while the passenger side runs too rich. It's not my O2's, since i replaced them and it happened right after I reconnected the battery.

St00pid Ford.

sell the ford buy a chevy
thats why they are going under and no one wants to bail them out
Check for loose wiring-If you see corrosion product buildup around battery terminals (white or blue stuff) you have a loose connectionReplace bettery if need be

Get alternator tested if problem persists

Trade for chevy if no hope in site

My take on Ford vs Chevy:

I work on the North Slope of Alaska in the harshest of conditions...We sometimes have to drive 30-40 miles from camp into the tundra. Any problems with our vehicles would mean being stranded in -100 degree weather and we would be in big trouble.

ConocoPhillips employs a fleet that is 99% Chevrolet duramax 3/4 tons.

Since safety is the prime concern, I think that says a lot...

My .02

i have an 03 f150 and we bought it new...if you dont take care of your vehicles then they are going to mess up. I have not had ANY problems out of mine NOTHING has messed up at all

to gump...the government buys ford

People are retarded with the whole ford vs chevy thing.
My girls Lumina is going on 200k and I have dumped well over 1k into it just this past year to keep it running. My point is it is, you will have problems with general maitenance on any ride.

Had to replace

gas tank

fuel pump

new lines

brakes

tires

some hydrulic thing my dad fixed

new altenator

new battery

new belts

Can't wait till next year.

Now my 3 year old Focus.............just have to change the oil and runs perfect.

Granted only has 30,000 miles on it, lol! Can't wait till things start to go on that.

Thing is, you will have general upkeep with any ride, some just last longer than others. I had an s10 that nothing ever happened to it and had a ford that everything happened to it, but usually have had better luck with ford over chevy. Now foregin cars, don't get me started.......and to have them fixed, miles well go out and rob a bank...........well older foregin cars.....like my 300zx with twin turbos. What an expensive toy that was!

OP, check the battery, probably bad. Samething happened with my girls Lumina.
thats cause your Focus is mostly Mazda...i should've kept mine ...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
