Bought 10W3v3-4 not hitting as hard as I hoped

I'm using the Sony XM-2200GTX Bridged, so it should be sending the sub 500 watts, I just feel like it not hitting very hard on rock songs, also I'm unsure if there is a break in time, I have only had the sub in for 1 day.

Its a 10" sub ... Dot expect much also is it in a pre fab box or a custom made box to subwoofer specs? Your already feeding it those 500w which what that amp does bridgd at 4 ohms

Pre fab box to .625 CF.

The W3 is not a hitting or a low end monster sub. It's a blending sub and it will not do well in a prefab but it will do pretty good about .25-.5 cube over JLs recommended specs.

idk maybe your right, It makes everything rattle on rap songs, but rock metal songs it is very poor I think, anyone else have any thoughts.

more power, better box. other than that new sub. @CSCStang is a reputable box builder and can ship to your doorstep if your looking into getting a custom ported.

1 go custom ported, high 30s tuned.

2 more power

3 change subwoofer positioning

4 fold down seats

5 crack down front windows.

Can I run more the 500 watts to it? I would like to not ruin it, right away.

I was going to change the positioning of it, just need to get some more speaker wire first.

Well, not sure if your amp has a subsonic filter which you will need when you go ported but as long as the gains are set properly with a clean signal, the sub can take hundred two watts more. But mainly it will be a subsonic filter you will need to protect your sub from over excursion.

a proper ported can give you identical response to a sealed but with more output.

I have not heard anything ported in a very long time... and i'm not trying to be a jerk, but how do you guys know to go bigger then spec, from personal experience?
