Bostons: Pro60's and RM6's

I recently purchased a set of new BA Pro60's for my fronts and set of RM6's for my rear deck. I am wondering if anyone has experience with these specific speakers or something comparible and could tell me what type of power I should be putting to each. The literature included recommends 125 RMS Amplified power to the Pro60's and about 100 RMS to the RM6's. I know these numbers are a little off sometimes. If anyone could give me some advice (hopefully backed by personal experience) I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Bostons want power, lots of it. If you want to feel safe, go half way between the max rating and the RMS or "nominal" rating. Rear doesn't matter very much at all. You only need them to make some sound so 75-100 is more than enough back there.

Thanks for all of the input thus far.

I am looking at some older Rockford Power amps to power these speakers.

I was thinking a 851s for the Pro60s (215Watt RMS x 2 @ 4Ohms) and a 351s for the rears RM6s (90 Watt RMS x 2 @ 4 Ohms). I know rockford usually under rates their amps, so do you think I would be safe with these?

Will that not be overpowering the fronts? That is the only thing I am worried about. I like to play my music loud, but I also like it to be clear. Would I be better off with a 551s amp (140Watt RMS x 2 @ 4Ohms) for the Pro60's?

sure you'll be ok. Like i said though dont go full power off the bat. slowly adjust your gain so you dont overpower them. you can underpower your amp by turning your gain down.

I am a little confused with what you are saying. I am guessing the 851s will put out about 230 Continuous, and the 551 will put something closer to 150. Which of the two would be best considering I want it to be able to play LOUD while retaining sound quality?

And still be safe? I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it.

BA offers 1 year over the counter exchange if I were to blow them...

Thank you very much for all of your input.
