Boston Pro60's or something else?

I have been looking at the Boston Pro60's for a while now and recently have had some doubts. I have been able to hear them and really like them but have been thinking maybe I'm just paying a lot for the name?

I have been looking into less known companies like zed audio and sound splinter and was wondering if you guys could suggest a pair of components I should look into for around $300 US a pair. They would have to be shipped to Canada though.

My only problem is that I would probably not be able to listen to any rare speakers suggested. What's your guys' thoughts on this? Anyone buy speakers without listening to them first?

Ebay is probably where I would get them from. Just wondering if there is anything else people would recommend in that price range. I tend to lean towards more warmer speakers.
