If your putting anything near 200+ watts of power to a set of components your either a. deaf, or b. going to be very very soon. Same applies with 10 watts to horns. Anyway, I'd go with the MBQ. If you think you'd like something a bit harsh the Q's will do you just fine. Speakers that are described as "harsh" at high volumes are usually speakers that are beginning to distort in the upper frequency range. For what it's worth, I heard the MBQ's hwen I was first really getting into audio and I didnt' hear anything better in components until the 1500 dollar range, I really liked their sound. As far as getting louder than your 2 type R set's, I'd doubt it. Assuming you can properly supply both set's with power the cone area is going to be pretty hard to out do, but they WILL sound better, maybe even get louder, if you are having cancellation issues.
