Alright, so I go to school at UConn, bout and hour and a half west of Boston. I will need to get into the city a couple times per semester, and i'm trying to figure out the best way to do it WITHOUT driving into the city itself. A nearby/on the way commuter train station would be ideal, but I'm having no luck finding anything in my mapquest hunting.

I can take a bus from campus, but I plan on staying overnight and don't want to be on a set schedule type of thing. The bus will be the last resort.

You can go 84 to 95 to 495 to 28 to the express way

You can go 91 to 90

You can go 84 to 90

You can go 384 to 395 to 90

I would go 91 to 90 if I was going to the city, but you said you do not want to to into the city but you have to go to the city so maybe you want to hop on the T somewhere and ride it in?>

thanks toasted. I plan on driving most of the way, I was trying to find a park and ride/commuter train parking thing somewhere on the outskirts, somewhere I can jump on the train and leave the car for a day or two if needed.

It depends on where you want to park at, you could park in Worcester I think its $8 to park a day and if you are willing to go a little closer to town Framingham would not be bad says it is $2 day.

You can see a list of MBTA parking rates below and most of them are along the Pike which is probably the easiest way to get into town regardless of if you take 91 or 84

Fawkin A, thanks Toasted. I'm going to look into Framingham, sounds good to me. The closer the better, just not trying to park right in the college area itself, there's nowhere to park.
