Boston G5's: Do they like rated power?

Maybe you should ask yourself, will the extra relatively small percentage of watts really make much audible difference? It takes a substantial increase in power to make a noticeable difference, is it worth the risk to your speaker(s)?

Rated power in Optimum enclosure, I know what you are saying the HDC3 is rated at 1k rms and people are like"dont even get one" unless you have 2-2.5K for a single.

In this case the specs are right on.

Generally speaking, 'rated power' is thermal, not mechanical. The enclosure size doesn't factor into thermal ratings very much.
true, but i was just stating power handling in general.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

one of my good friends who works at Crutchfield had a 10" in a 1.25 cuft, dont remember the tuning, running off of a 1000/1 and no problems at all. i ran mine off of about 250wrms in a 1.75 cuft tuned to ~33 and it wanged as well, but obviously not as much as on the 1000/1
