Boston G5 or Eclipse 8200?

Im in the market for a 12" that would have a great accurate sound and the potential to get loud. Im a fan of sealed boxes, although i do make a spare ported box on the side when im feeling the need for a little more output. My friends at my local dealer say the G5s "slam", but im interested to hear the 8200's LMT. both will be powered at least to rms.

i do own a 10w6v2 and a RL-p15, love both of em

what are your opinions?

bump, id appreciate your thoughts.

If you're after sound quality, the SW8000's really shine. They are also built off the same TC9 motor so if you are happy with their output, then you should be fine.

the 8200's is about 3dB less efficient than the non linear TC9's due to the linear coil, but it has a higher xmax and much lower distortion over an already acclaimed "SQ" driver.

not trying to be rude byut good luck getting info on the g5s

seems like alot of people ask about them but no one ever has info on them. if i had the money i would try one, but i dont.

i'd imagine either wya you'd be happy. if nothing else buy the g5 and get that passive radiator if you dont like the output of just one

I could never find much info on G5's, but I went ahead and bought mine based on my speakers and amps from them. I am extremely happy with mine, it has rediculuous output for a 10" subwoofer off only 500w, and plays very low as well. The sound quality is also astounding on it, it sounds better than any other setup I have heard, but can still get loud. When I first installed it, I messed with the polarity on the head unit, and left it on normal because it seemed to have louder output. I was somewhat dissappointed, it sounded like it was in my bed instead of in the truck with me, it seemed too muffled and boomy, and didnt blend well. Then I switched the polarity and left it for awhile, and noticed a huge difference in SQ. The subbass now seems to come from my frontstage and it blends perfectly, and is much tighter as well. Just a tip I thought I would add if you are not impressed hooking one up.
