Well, we'll see. I'm installing a pair of them soon. I've also used the Bostons. I'll have to follow up with a comparison of the two.

I've owned 4 G5's and loved them just couldn't handle too much more power than 500 watts per sub,then had to upgrade-

my cousin got one for $10 for a pawn shop but it has some pretty bad surround scuffing and i put it free air on my 3250.1 at 4ohms which is like 700w it seemed like it didnt get moving as much so it should have so i think its messed up or somthing. i moved the cone up and down and didnt hear or feel any scrapping tho?

Are the G512-4 and the G512-44 identical ASIDE from the fact that the 44 has the dual voice coils?

No diff in SQ?

They look like the identical sub.

Performance wise, they're pretty much the same aside from the differing voice coil configuration.

There are some differences in the Thiele/Small parameters, which can be expected from a single voice coil vs a dual voice coil.

You can order an entire soft part system replacement for $80! SonicElectronix will order a dual 4 ohm or single 4 ohm, but only if you give them a call.

So, what is the benefit to having the passive radiator?

If I want to go with a 2 12" setup, would getting 2 passive radiators make a huge difference? Would 1?

It would be a sealed enclosure.
