Any particular reason why I shouldn't gap spark plugs? My wife went to go get one yesterday, somehow the last one broke on me...in 1/2, and the guy behind the counter told her no reason to gap it.

Gapping won't cause it to snap unless you got the wrong hot/cold plug needed.
Back then the recommended gap was .60 now it's .40 or opposite.

For my s10...which is weird because it also calls for .060 gap What you mean snap?

When you said broke in 1/2, did you mean the electrode or the actual plug after the nut?
.060 is normal, its a stock value to make the arc larger and save gas.

If you shorten it to .040 or near it you may lean the engine, but get more performance.

The ceramic neck actually broke.....was literally surprised. Never broken one before and I'm completely baffled on how it happened. It may have been shipped to me that way w/o people realizing it. Until I get it then bam 2 pieces fall apart.

Now to do a tune up to the Tahoe...that's gonna be fun. It's hesitating a lot during the drive. Bigger vehicle....always liked having my *** in the air while removing the distributor cap/rotor in it.

Doing a full tune up? Lol I only change the spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, oil change, new spark plugs wires.
I never go in on the distributer and injectors.. to much work..

That's part of a tune up bud. They go bad too. I gotta pic of them. The old plugs actually had some rust on them. That says something...

Wow that would ****.....did one on the T&C van we had and that had to be done by feel....
Yep, I feel that pain. Did plugs and wires on my old i30t (loved that car. LSD, manual *****, strong stock alt and easy as hell to install audio gear in) and the back 3 plugs were pretty much the same as your t&c, by feel and mirrors. Snapped the head off a plug when installing too. Pi$$ed me off lol but got it out, replaced and running again. That car lasted to 245k miles and I wasn't exactly kind to it from day one when I got it at around 30 k on the clock. That engine was awesome! It was perfectly content at redline as it was at idle and it purred at idle. I had half shafts installed in it by a local shop known for being g good at Japanese imports and I told them it had the LSD in it, the fuc*kin vin even decoded with "(LSD)" in the model and the dipsh1ts put regular shafts in it. So while driving along about 70 miles after getting it back, I lost all power to the wheels, engine running perfectly and they had it towed back to their shop only to discover their parts mistake... Needless to say, I didn't pay for that tow and have never gone back to that shop since

Easiest vehicle I worked on was my s10 blazer. It was a '92 so much room in that engine bay area. ..
