boom boom

ikesound has the hifonics 1500 for $200 plus shipping- cheaper than the ebay stores. I agree with the suggestion to grab a 15" l7 and the brutus. Or, an ED 9.1 for $315, and a pair of kicker comp vr 12"s.

nine.1 = overkill for VR 12s.. almost overkill for 15s too.. and thats if you run it at 2 ohms.. one ohm would light any of those subs into a ball of flames.. youre lookin at more like 1400-1500 rms @ one ohm and 1000-1100 @ 2 ohms. its a great amp for the money IMO but still i think it would be a waste for this application just cause hes on a tight budget.

hifonics is fine. and L7 is fine too. in a properly built box they sound good. if you do in fact get the bx1500d, go with a dual 4 sub though and run @ 2 ohms.. thatll be at like 900 watts.. more sub friendly than the 1300 or so that one ohm will give him. its to easy to blow on that kinda power. and too tempting to turn the gain up just a tad too high.

I suggest a Pioneer SPL2000 or an MTX thunder8000 in pro built ported box (they have good SQ when Built prop.), Then you could get away with a 500watt RMS amp. I have owned a pair of Pioneer 2000's and MTX thunder 8000's and was very happy with both, I used a Concept CCD1200 to power them (2 twelves).

i run a efficiently priced system that sounds great, to me and friends. audiobahn apb 12t subwoofer bandpass, 2 12's with the audiobahn a8000t, 1600 watts peak power, enough to be heard for blocks. apb12t, under $100 on ebay, i also got the A8000T amp for $145 on ebay. let me know???

sounds nice...imma check it out....thanx.....

yo and for people who think i wanna get really loud when i say i wanna be heard as i come into the street.....well...i live in guyana.....our streets here is like less than 150metres long!!!

if you get that audiobahn stuff i would almost guarantee youll sell it right away and get soemthin else. i dont have the ear for sound quality that these guys do.. so ill be the first to tell you that you dont need a superwoofer to be happy with your bass... HOWEVER.. audiobahn is one brand that i think actually sounds like arse. high distorsion, weak low end, sloppy, poor build quality, etc.

kicker, pioneer, fosgate, mtx, alpine, and other mainstream brands are fien if youre on a budget. check ebay out and let us know what you found before you buy it so we can help you make an informed decision. i presonally like alpine ( type r or type x) and kicker out of thos brands i just told you, but its all preferance. check ebay out man.

EDIT: also, FYI, audioholic wasnt saying that you couldnt be heard down the street.. cause thats not hard to do.. its just juvenile and that kinda thing gives audiophiles a bad name. but i know where youre coming from and i still have friends like that. i think most people start out that way.. they just kinda grow otu of it. but ill admit i dont mind seeing a head or two turn. just dont be the kid shaking the street after dark in the residential neighboorhood. then you lost all respect
