no, but we were always very weary of rough seas....at 16ft, was tipping the boat an issue? or is that only with the aluminum hulls...

You're right, if you are riding in salt water, you will have to pay more attention to the boat/system. This would include flushing the outdrive when you are finished with it. Not everyone does this every single time they go out, but if you can get into the habit of it, your outdrive parts will last longer.good to know. whatever the boat is (john , whaler , skiff , bass, etc.) it can go into both salt and freshwater , correct? i know after being in salt itll need a good hose down. sorry if some of my questions are retarded but ive never owned a boat before and this is stuff id like to know. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

if you are in fact not considering oil and gas maintenance and since he wont have to winterize/de-winterize (because he lives in FL) what other costs will he incur that would categorize the boat as expensive to maintain? And I never said gas, oil is maintenance, its a COST he'll have to worry about. Maybe not so much on a little bass boat, but still something to think about.
You're right! Boating is totally free!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif i know several people out on the water, including myself, in the cold, even when it is been below freezing... i just like to get my monies worth and throw on a wet suit or dry suit, hood, booties, gloves, etc.

Heh, its usually the small stuff that many of us don't bat an eye at that makes it all add up:if you are in fact not considering oil and gas maintenance and since he wont have to winterize/de-winterize (because he lives in FL) what other costs will he incur that would categorize the boat as expensive to maintain?
Gas is cheap. It was only $3.69 at my marina last weekend. And my tank only holds 150 gallons.- don't know about you guys, but gas always seems to be much higher at a marina verses the gas station too..
