-Boat Thread-

i have several friends that have boats and have had very few problems with them. most of their boats are several years old.
They must be the lucky few. Everyone I speak to - even though they may say that their unit is fine - seem to have an ever-running list of parts they had to replace on it. If I ever sought out to be a mechanic it would be marine-based. There is no shortage of business...

i like boats

Get something like a Carolina Skiff. They're small and cheap, but are perfect for what you're wanting to do.
Get one like this with a 50hp outboard and you're set.

id love to just pull it up on the shore line like that. i love the lay out of the bass boats but id like to put it in the bay where waves get a bit bigger. the boat will most def be bought used.

nice pics to the few that were posted, but wheres the rest? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

no one owns a boat?! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

look into scout boats those are pretty nifty. my dad owns one. My uncle has a 13' boston whaler and 21' greaty white neither of those fit your likings. other uncle has a 17" carolina skiff and we really didnt like that one. we also have a 12' and 14' john boats with a 15hp yamaha and the other with an old 5hp suzuki(sp) on it. i dont think you will be happy with a john boat if you are wanting to "chill". If i were you i would look into scouts, boston whalers, or maybe a pontune(sp) boat? if you dont want to do much skiing or wake boarding why not get a pontune so you can grill out or host quiet a few people? and you can fish around the entire deck,

well it would be mainly for fishing but while not catching fish id like to be comfortable and able to walk around/get on the boat (if i decide to swim) and not worry about flipping. i like the look of the bass boats but im assuming they wont do well out in the bay on a semi-choppy day, right? http://www.nitro.com/segment/index.cfm?segment=21 they do look nice.

ive been watching alot of fishing tournaments in the mornings on the 'sun network' channel and that kinda made me decide i want a boat. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
