The e36 m3's were amazing cars, i still think about getting one every now and then. They are beautiful and have balls to back it up, plus have the mod-ability of a japanese tuner car. They are a bad *** german work of art and anyone should feel lucky when they buy one... they're amazing cars

the m3's are fast as hell. ive raced maybe 2 or 3 with my stang and its close, very close every time...me being ahead, of course.

My dad had a '98 e36. It was a great car. The ride was a little on the rough side compared to newer M3's and the stock computer/lap time thing was pretty useless. It had the torque that only a straight-six can provide.

The only advice I have is that you drive smart with one, they are very low and that airdam in the front loves to eat curbs. My dad never bumped his luckily but I've seen plenty driving around with f'ed up bumpers.

I would get one just on the fact that BMW's are built so solid. I have a 95 BMW 318TI and it runs like a champ. I just hit 181,000 on it yesterday and still has not had 1 major problem with it. I just need it to last 2 more years until I am out of college and I'm set and I'm positive it will!!

if you are trying to say the m3 handles better, maybe so...but my stang handles pretty good, its been lowered 1 1/2" with eibach springs.

i am trying to say it handles much better, and lowering springs arn't going to get you anywhere near the m3's handling, i know because ive driven both and own a mustang currently
