not only does the bullet hit the target before the sound on 99% of guns even .22s with high velocity ammo but also i own many many guns(ar15's, shotguns, .22s) age is no issue. you must not know the laws very well sir.

Thats why bullets make a little sonic boom when they break the sound barrier known as the sonic crack. When using a silencer you need subsonic ammo which is ammo that will not travel at speeds that will make a subsonic crack(louder than the firearm itself in SOME cases)
