bm 10" power handling

in a daily driven situation how much power can i send these in a 30 hz ported enclosure? in a sealed enclosure?
anyone with experience?

do i need to go sealed if i want to send 1k watts per sub?
don't quote me on this but i would say with 1kw on a bm you will cook the coil

that is over double the rms

i know of 2 people that were sending their bm12's 5-600w each and they rocked like that.

much more power and you are just going to break something.

but i have been wrong before so take what i say with a grain of salt.

I think you are likely correct-

im curious as to what the limiting factor on the bm will be/how box design can affect the handling/hoping for input on those topics.

I am in a testing stage in the car i'm instlaling them in- and will later switch to 1200 series ppi art- but i have to sell some stuff first in order to buy that.

I am intending to run these off of an american bass xd2000 at least for this testing phase.

10" BM's are available. If our dealers do not have them listed, please email me at Nick@stereointegrity.com and let me know.

1000 watts will destroy a 10" BM sealed or ported. It is a 400 watt driver. We do not cover blown coils, so you can theoretically send it 10 kilowatts if you want, but I highly advise against doing so. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

400-500 is all the BM's were designed to take. They have taken 600'ish at times in sealed enclosures, but anything that is considerably over their rms rating should be avoided. I'm not saying that they'll cook in an instant, but I am saying to use discretion when trying to more than double a speakers rms power handling. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

I have mine about 700, and they wanged (i had 12's)

GREAT DRIVERS, If i had the $$$ I would have 2 mags right now, but 1 I'm broke and 2 my electrical cant take my sundown at .5ohm

I would port them, they're monsters when they're ported, mine were tuned at 34hz, and they hit a 143.3 (see sig), VERY NICE for SI's Midline drivers (I think thats what nick called em)

Baby Mag's FTMFW

Psst - Joseph, you never heard my subs once they broke in :p Just that first day when they were stiff as hell and my gains were low //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i'm really going for sq here and trying to have the lightest/loudest system possible.

i have another truck with 3 9515s and lots of power, and another truck with L7s and lots of power- and good friends/other demo vehicles of my "company" with solo x 18s, 4 mtx 9500 15s etc. etc..

this is in my c43- i'm quite certain the power i'll end up sending these once i get my hands on the amp i want will be more than enough spl for my needs with them sealed.

thanks a ton for the advice/help guys-

it always helps to ehar from those who have experimented/tested in the past. for all i knew these were limited by box design to a great degree and would have taken 1k rms each- in which case i would have had to rethink my amplifier situation/plan.
