Bluetooth phone static on other end

I installed a Pioneer 3400BH stereo into my 2003 ford mustang gt using the stock mach 460 speakers. Everything was installed fine, and I grounded all the ground wires to the chassis screw and tested the grounding point with a multimeter. My problem is solely with the Bluetooth phone. The person on the other end says its is choppy and has a lot of static that sounds like wind. This has been replicated and I can confirm that on the other end there is static. In the car I can hear the other person fine on the speakers. Bluetooth audio streaming works perfectly without static as well as other audio sources (CD, USB). I tried different phones and the problem is the same on all phones. I also tried plugging in a different microphone and the problem persists. Anybody have any other suggestions? I feel like I exhausted every possibility I could think of. Thanks.
