blowthrough in a car..

has anyone done/seen something like this? basically what im thinking is sealing off the trunk from the backseats and then having a blowthrough type box. if this helps you visualize at all, pretend the trunk is a pickup bed and the cabin is the cab. pics would be awesome if you have any.

im doing an install where port and subs are facing into the cabin. somehow im gonna connect the sides of the box to teh frame of the car so no "soundwaves" if u wanna call it that get into the trunk.. and the rear deck is sealed off with some sound dampening i can get some pics up tomorrow.

Also i have seen a rear deck install where the port was going into the rear deck it looked pretty cool..

kinda like all the IB setups where they put the subs on the front part of the trunk(back part of the back seat)... and seal off the trunk
sounds about right
kind of, but there will be an actual box in the trunk. what do you think the benefits would be (if any)? gain it output at all? probably a rise in SQ since you did compare it to an IB setup...??

my guess would be that you would gain quite a few hyper db's.. no serious u might get like 2-3 out of it
thats a pretty good increase then...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

someone explained it to me really good but i forgot how they put it. but all the sound pressure is kept inside the cabin instead of having a significant loss inside the trunk..

tomorrow i will post some pics to give you somewhat of an idea of what im doing.. it might spark an idea. Also if i ever do this again i will fo sure use aero ports

right...i wonder how much our systems would be if we could make our vehicles 100% air tight...

183 some odd DB's... lawl
the SPL vans use cement as sound deadening if i remember correctly
actually, i think they use it as a way to take up space too. notice how SPL fans will have NO interior except for a drivers seat, pedals for gas and brake and a steering wheel. the less interior space you have for the compression of air, the better. its kind of like this...what takes less time to fill up? a big truck tire, or a small little honda tire? given that you're using the same compressor and filling to the same psi.
