Blown Subwoofer...

My friend just bought what he thought was new 12" L5 with a kicker box. Come to find out the sub is blown. He got the sub and box for 71 + Shipping. So I told him I would buy the blown woofer and box for $60. Now, My question is, How much would it cost to possibly get it fixed? Would kicker HAVE to do it, Or could I go elsewhere?

EDIT: The sub, When played, Makes that disturbing sound, Something like paper in a fan blade kinda dealy thingy... I'm not sure whether the cone is froze or not. If needed I will further inspect.

just call kicker. RE has been known to recone other subs but i doubt they will touch this one

Kicker wont do recones. I called RE the other day and they said they didnt do square kickers.
