Blown Sub?

Well, I went to tighten those nuts and I tightened one of them too much and broke the screw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I guess I'll be getting the new enclosure sooner than I thought. I don't want to waste time fixing this crappy box. I'm going to try to pick it up today and hope the loose terminal nuts are the problem. There's a local company that has a 4 cubic feet mdf box tuned to 32hz for $149.

Got the new box hooked everything up and nothing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

My amp has a power light and it's doesn't come on, however the 4 gauge power wire from my battery feels warm, fuse is still good. My amp also has 4 25A fuses and they are all good. Is it possible that I blew my amp without blowing any of it's fuses??

I would check to see if the power wire/connections on the amp are tight, not loose.Sometimes its forgotten to tighten, check for any of the power wiring connection for strands not in the terminal possibly grounding out to the amp itself..Sounds like a loose wire to me though...I had something happen to me last week with a POS Platinum dist block, to where it got hot enough that it actually melted the plastic of the block and damaged the inter link of the fused connection, and I had power on the amp?? but i had to rotate the fuse and this is when i found the issue.Power was on would go off back on ect..All due to a POS Dist Block.I put my old(once again ..old gear verses the new gear)MTX Gold Plated Dist block back in..runs cooler and no issues.Did the shop use a wire graument when they pulled the power wiring through??If not, good possibility that they may have cut slashed exposed wiring and and it could be grounding out??The Hood fuse tight??Is it more thamn a 150 for the 4ga supply??You got 3.7ohms on the subwoofer with the meter..Thats fine for 4ohms isnt it??Its pretty darn close to me...I think your sub is fine.Do you have another amplifier to try out just to test with??

Bypass the terminals on the box, and go direct from subwoofer to the amp????

I already got a new box. It was excuse for me to upgrade. As far as the amp connections, all wires are tight. And a wire grommet, I didn't check but I trust that they know what they are doing there but I guess it doesn't hurt to check. I was going to head back to the shop tomorrow morning to see what they say and if they can test it with another amp, as I don't have an extra.

I do know my sub is dual 4 ohm. So of it reads 4, then it should be ok or am I missing something here? Sorry it's a bit confusing. Oh and I didn't ask the model of the ID sub he offered. He just said it was around the same power handling as my type R, around 800 or so rms.
You just make sure that if you do decide to buy the new sub .that you keep that type R..There is nothing wrong with that sub in my opinion..If you paid them to install it..they should try n find out whats going on ,and not without testing/trouble shooting the sub without pulling it out, trying to make a sale??You have a buddy with a DVC 4ohm sub you can test with??Hook his up to yours??Yours to his??You tried the DMM on the speaker connections of the Amp yet to test for power yet??

May test the speaker connections with the dmm on the amplifier to see if you read ??Thing?Ya, if they rubbed the wire going through the fire wall pulling the wiring, could possibly exposed the power wire a bit, and making it ground out/cut ect.
