Bypass the terminals on the box, and go direct from subwoofer to the amp????Well, I went to tighten those nuts and I tightened one of them too much and broke the screw //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
I guess I'll be getting the new enclosure sooner than I thought. I don't want to waste time fixing this crappy box. I'm going to try to pick it up today and hope the loose terminal nuts are the problem. There's a local company that has a 4 cubic feet mdf box tuned to 32hz for $149.
I already got a new box. It was excuse for me to upgrade. As far as the amp connections, all wires are tight. And a wire grommet, I didn't check but I trust that they know what they are doing there but I guess it doesn't hurt to check. I was going to head back to the shop tomorrow morning to see what they say and if they can test it with another amp, as I don't have an extra.Bypass the terminals on the box, and go direct from subwoofer to the amp????
You just make sure that if you do decide to buy the new sub .that you keep that type R..There is nothing wrong with that sub in my opinion..If you paid them to install it..they should try n find out whats going on ,and not without testing/trouble shooting the sub without pulling it out, trying to make a sale??You have a buddy with a DVC 4ohm sub you can test with??Hook his up to yours??Yours to his??You tried the DMM on the speaker connections of the Amp yet to test for power yet??I do know my sub is dual 4 ohm. So of it reads 4, then it should be ok or am I missing something here? Sorry it's a bit confusing. Oh and I didn't ask the model of the ID sub he offered. He just said it was around the same power handling as my type R, around 800 or so rms.
May test the speaker connections with the dmm on the amplifier to see if you read ??Thing?Ya, if they rubbed the wire going through the fire wall pulling the wiring, could possibly exposed the power wire a bit, and making it ground out/cut ect.I already got a new box.
