Blown sub?

Well this morning I was bumping like usual, and all was fine, but then the bass just cut out. No sound or anything. I get home, pop the trunk and the amp is in protect. I was having ground problems before, so I figured that was probably the case. I redid the ground to 3 different spots, and the amp would only stay out of protect and the sub would play until 15 volume(normally around 45 when bumping.) I thought shiit my amp might be toast, but then I thought maybe its the sub. The speaker wires were really hot(hotter than what I would think they would get) I didnt bother taking the sub out of the box, but I put my DMM on the terminal on the box, and it read 0.8 ohms. My sub is a dual 4 ohm >.

that audiopipe amp is way way to much power for the type r daily...
Sub is D4 and the AP is rated at 950@2ohm. I set it with a DMM to like 46.5 volts which is like 700 watts or something. I dont remember the exact settings I put it to. But a few days ago I turned up the low frequency on the EQ a tad, and I think that is what did it.
