blown sub

seeing as how 1000W is getting near the limits of the type r, the extra 500W probably wasn't doing too much except make a lot of heat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Actually, Type-Rs don't really go too far into power compression until after 1000rms. Just because the manufacturer says they take 500rms doesn't mean that's it's limits.

Ok heres some real world "500" watt increase data. I have both a bx1500d and a bx1000d. I first burped with the 1000d and got a 146.2, then switched amps and burped and pulled a 147.1 @ 46 hz. .9 db is alot in competition especially street a.

Oh and i didnt think i blew the R i thought I blew one of these cheap 5$ infinities lol.

if you put a Type-Rs in a little bitty box it will prolly handle 1000 rms, it depends on box size to if you put that sub in a box built by manufacturers specs that they recommend the biggest for that sub will prolly reach its thermal limits at 500-600 rms maybe.
