how do you drain the power? no protect doesn't come on... never has. how do i test the rca's? when i move the gain i don't get any power on a dmmdrain power, then power it up again. Is protect on?
you may want to check RCA's and such also
yes... i know there is something wrong with the amp, just not sure what... powers up just fine...did u check the subs on another stereo to make sure they still work?
the caps on the board hold a charge-how do you drain the power? no protect doesn't come on... never has. how do i test the rca's? when i move the gain i don't get any power on a dmm
nope, just lights up green and stays green... the amp has never overheated or anything...the caps on the board hold a charge-
shunt your + and - battery connections on the amp. just not with voltage hooked up!
if you get a small (or big) arc across them, that usually means the power supply is good to go.
sounds to me like a front end problem. your input stage is not making it to your output stage. is the amp in protect all the time now?
psychotic isent the brighest bulb in the boxHow hard is it to do basic troubleshooting? I dont understand how people can lack this simple skill. Right now the problem could lie anywhere... amp, deck, rca's, wiring, subs etc. Eliminate each of these potential sources one by one by doing tests.. aka, I'd start by seeing if the amp is at fault by wiring it up straight to the battery, hooking up an mp3 player to it for a source, and wire it to some old speakers laying around that you know work. It's really not that hard...
