blown l7?

I was playing my stuff earlier today when the bass pretty much just died so I turned down the voulume real quick and heard a poping/crackling sound and then some smoke comming from the amp or the 2 holes in the box for the power wire near the amp (not sealed yet) and a horrible burning smell. So today after school I checked it all out and the amp doesnt seem to smell burned so I pushed on the subs and one of them (l7) had the scratching sound to it and the rest were fine so i pulled it out and sure enough it smells pretty burned/horrible. Seems like its blown but how can I check it with the multimeter to be sure.

Set the meter to read resistance and measure the voice coils.

Thanks...It seems blown. One reads .2 and the other reads 1.7 (running dual 2's) good news but bad news. Id much rather blow a refurb sub i paid 100 for than this amp i just paid 320 for a few days ago. Any way of testing the amp using the multimeter?

Seems like the amp is gone too...Something isnt quite right though I wired the 3 subs up according to the 3 subs @ 1.34 ohms on the diagram here. I had both terminals w/ the dot hooked together and it ran fine for 3 days. I then looked at kickers wiring diagram and it showed I should have the red terminal w/ white dot to the solid black terminal. I wired them all up like that. Ran it for about 2.5min and boom.

I have a power acoustic a3000db. They were wired to where each sub had a small wire connecting the red terminal with white dot to the solid black terminal. Then from there a long wire connecting the remaining solid red terminals together and going to the + on the amp. And another long wire connecting the remaining black terminals with white dot connected to the - on the amp. All 3 DVC 2's on one amp. As for box. I had it designed by powernaudio here on the forums. I can post a pic of specs if youd like.

I also tested it before rewiring w/ the multimeter and i was getting .7-.8ohms. After rewiring I was getting 1.4 - 1.5. Thats how it seems pretty odd to me. Shouldnt I have had a better chance blowing a 1 ohm stable amp at .7-.8 ohms as well as feeding the subs too much power as compared to the 1.5 ohms.

Heres a pic in paint of how I had it wired and it worked fine.

Now heres a pic in paint of how I had it when it blew.

Which is correct. From what I seen on kickers web the 2nd is...

Edit..The first one read .7-.8 ohms on the multimeter, The 2nd read 1.4-1.5 ohms

to get a 1.33 ohm, you need to connect

all three woofers

red/white dot to solid black

wire all red's together and to the positive of the amp

last pic is correct

all black/white dots together to the neg of the amp.

Hmm...Odd Guess its just the luck of the draw I had. Being that I had it correct when the blowing occured do you think the sub would still be covered by warranty or is it one of those things where id have to send it in and you guys look at it to determine that.
