blown hifonics bxi1606d need help!

i believe i blew my hifonics brutus 1600 watt amp. it went up in smoke after touching the output wires to my subs. there was a very loud pop too. any suggestions?

i blew my 1606d amp to and the gain was on half didnt know how. so i sold it to some person that didnt know alot about audio for $60 lol the condtion was good tho.

I had something short out on my 1206D, kept blowing my in-line fuse, NEVER the fuse on the amp... tried a third in-line and heard a sizzle from the amp, then went up in smoke... the 80amp fuse on the amp never blew //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif.

remember, these things are budget power, not the most reliable.

what kind of sub? why did you have the amp turned on when connecting the sub? where did you buy it/how long ago?

i have two RE SE 12's. and i had the amp turned on, becuase i am a dumbass. yeah neither of my 80's blew either. **** me right..haha i bought it on ebay like a month ago.
