Soooo. I was haviing someone cut the wood for my box.. and I was gonna install it in my trunk.. I give him all the cuts.. even lined the wood for him.. I come back and my ish is crooked.. I mean seriously.. Cuts all wavy.. Anyways.. I'm pissed... about $70 in wood down the drain and I haven't even built anything yet.. Then I go to putting my old box back in.. I have the ground in and then the power wire touches the outside of the amp heatsink and makes a little spark.. So then I try to put it in to the + terminal and it starts to spark.. I take it out remove the - and put the + in.. and now the - starts to spark.. I hope I haven't burnt anything up.. It seems like it is grounding itself out...

Let me know what you think.. I might have to take it to a shop to see if they can get it to work.

I hope I haven't messed anything up. I was sooo pissed when I came back to get my my box panels.. I was moving too fast.

PULL the fuse out of your power wire when you connect or disconnect your amp... Of course it's going to "spark" Same thing happens when you connect a good charged battery to your car... If your fuses aren't blown you might be OK, but if in fact you DID ground out I'm sure you will find blown fuse(s) at the very least...

so I hook the amp up like u guys say and when i put the + to the termianl on the battery this is what happened..

how much does it cost to fix a amp.. a rough estimate?? this shop says that they are going to charge me $45 just to run a diagnostics.. but that will go towards the repair if they have to..

I never had a problem out I mine and I ran the hell out of it. If u reversed the polarity or grounded the frame out you may have damaged some of the more sensitive components. And depending on what it cost to fix it might be worth just buying a new amp.

so they are going to fix it.. Is $175 high for fixing the power supply?? I went ahead and told him to fix it.. but I just wanted to know if he was charging too much??
