Blowing subs?

Ok, for my system, check out my sig.. Now.. Question I have is... If I crank the volume up to, lets say 20-22 and turn the bass on full (15) and put the EQ on "Hip-Hop", am I going to blow the subs? I have a great fear in blowing them.. I want it to be loud though. Let me know guys. Thanks.

Hrm, i'll find out the gains tomorrow and i'll tell you guys. (Not sure what the gains are set at because it all got done in the same day, the installation that is. I didn't install it.) The two amps are powering the 2 12" subs. The deck is powering the speakers (for now).

I'll let everyone know the gains so i can get an idea of if they'll blow or not. Regardless, they are warrantied for 1 year. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Also remember that, on those Alpine decks, +15 on the sub out is in reality "0" and is the only way to get full voltage output out of the deck. So, just be sure to set the sub preout control to +15 before you set the gain.

they're not warrantied against idiots who blow them because they didn't set the gain correctly. Alpine will tell you to get fvcked if you try that.

Read that tutorial and then set the gains correctly.

I would imagine the gains are set correctly. The box was custom made (ported box) to fit the Alpine Type R subs and make it sound it's best. BTW, the place I bought it, I asked (If I blow the subs on purpose let's say, is it still warrantied and they will be fixed right? and they said yes, as long as I don't poke it with a fork).

The place I bought them is an authorized dealer of Alpine in Canada.

Oh ... they'll be warrantied ... but you won't have a sub for 2 months //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
lol, I guess I don't want to blow them then.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

I'll call the installer tomorrow and ask if I should use the "Hip-Hop" option..
