Blew some kind of unit in my 06 Chevy!

Hey guys my current setup as of last week is 1 12" Alpine Type R running to a 1000W Peak Power Kenwood Amp and it is running on 8 gauge wires connetected to the battery and 12 Gauge Speaker Wire! The Amp was not turned all the way up or nothing! I noticed my lights dimmed and then i went to go leave work about a week after I got it and would not crank over the battery was trying to crank but it could not get the motor to run! I also have a Rockford Fosgate Cap! Does anyone know what my problem is the dealer ship is claiming i have it wired wrong or something should I use a 4 guage and a bigger battery I dont kno what to do!!! ARGHHH

Were you bumping with the truck off? if not maybe your alternator took a dump. btw, don't ever crank the gain.

check ur remote wire to see if the amp stays on
