Blew my hdc3 12 today.. lulz

not on purpose.. i put my saz-3000d in yesterday and was tickled with the output.. so i was demoing some rap for my friend at a hi volume and skipped ahead on the cd and accidenly landed on Put On by jeezy.. that lownote bottomed the shit outta my sub and it stopped workin.. i pulled it out and it was tore where the spider meets the former and tinsel..

i wasnt even mad, cuz it was user error.. i knew what i was doing wrong

i called DJ and was straight up with him.. told him my box specs and saz3000d.. he kinda chuckled and said "yep, big ol box and low notes and a monster underrated amp.. that'll blow the shit out of it" made me lol.. he even guessed about it tearing .. real cool guy. guess imma order me a recone in a week or so and try not to tear it up again..

it ws as loud to the ear as my 9515g on 3000w on a diff 5cuft 40hz box

Ive had the same problem with the lows on AQ subs. Just gotta be careful with them. Good luck on the recone!

yeah man.. i knew i had it turned up past my "safe level" and started off a incredibly lownote at hi volume... not to mention the really big box and its incredibly overpowered.. my fault 100%

Ouch indeed, and 5ft3 net for (1) 12"?? Wow, seriously not suprised. But at least you were man enough to admit you mistake and DJ is def the man when it comes to customer service. Glad you getting it straight.

The funny thing is, I sold my Hifonics 1200 because the amp was reaching it's limits before the sub (nowhere near rated, might I add) and now the same thing has happened with this amp. fml.

yeah man, he' a cool cat. i really like the guy.. wasnt no use in lying about it.. and it was loud as balls why it lasted.. it'll be fixed in a week or 2

i had a hifonics 1610d on this thing up til yesterday morning.. spent all day adding batts and the sundown.. that was respectable for 1600w, but nothing ompared to the sundown (apparently lol) oh well, ill order a recone, and a 2nd hdc3 12 for sure within the next month.. we'll see what #s that puts up @.5 lol
