Blazer + Solo X 18's= Fun!

off topic...how much do solox 18's run? Reccomended box size?
Off the top of my head not 100% sure... But like $650-800 BNIB, used can be had for like $500-600. Boxes anywhere from 6ft3 - 10ft3, all power dependent. Tuning they like 32-36hz, in my experience with Solos anything over 40hz is gonna be terrible for daily.

They are louder than BTLs + 9518s off 3500 watts, before the flame there is testing that we've done to prove it. Over a 1.5yr period a teammate had all 3 woofers off a Sundown 3000D @ .5ohms. They were all in optimum daily boxes and as far as burp/bassrace scores the Solo-X was the loudest by over 1db burp score/.7 or so bassrace. They were all prolli the same in handling the power for multiple full tilt songs and demos. The new cones are definitely alot stronger than the old gray ones were though.

Also a lot of people say they aren't a daily driver sub but I use them every day and they work and sound great for me sooo........ But I haven't really heard an other big builds locall to compare. Also I have been thinking of going with 4 of them in a clam shell or 6 15's not sure what I want to do but it will be done some time next year so I have timeto think about it.

4 18" Solo-Xs in a clamshell-like enclosure would be insanely loud to say the least. Throw in 2 more of the Memphis 4kws and it would definitely do sum damage and put up sum large numbers.

What 15s were u thinking of switching to?? My teammate who now runs 2 18" Solo-Xs walled off(soon to be 4), switched from 6 15" L7s w/ 9kw to the 2 18" Xs only lost .9dbs w/ the same power. Can't wait to see his results when all is said and done.

So you think 30 cubes would be enough for 4 of them? I'm considering doing a blow through on my truck and going balls to the wall.

O ya I would have atleast four 4kw's one on each solo x. And as far as which 15's I wasent really sure maybe re xxx's or dd's not sure but something that would take a 4k daily

ya I think you would be fine with 30cubes. Im gonna go as big as I can! I could have went way bigger but didint want to do a whole bunch of work I got in a rush.

you live in spokane eh? i have to hear these beast's!

i'll shoot you a pm before my next trip to eastern wa see if I can't get a demo.

Yup. You have to let me get ur done before a demo lol. Im trying to get it together but money is tight! We have a small comp this sat and I will se what it will do with one of the 4kw's.

Ok I know I said the blazer does 154's. And that was with the audiocontrol meter. Well I think they recalibrated the mic because I got a lower score at the comp today but its all good cause I still came in first with no electrical to back it up! Also by the way this is the seconde comp ever!

I went from 2 Solo X 18s to 2 BTLs and gained 1.2 but for daily driver, I miss the Xs.

I have a question? I want to make the box bigger! But I dont want to rebuild the box I just want to add to the back of the box. Will it matter if I have a step down in the box and more corners inside it? I think it will help me a whole lot beacuse Im running around 7 to 8cubs each and more air space will be louder correct?

What kind of power you running and what's it in? Have you had it meterd??
That was in 2005 in a Voyager (walled). I had 10k going to each.

This was in 2003 - 2004 in my Navigator. This was my daily powered by 2 Earthquake D3s. It did a 54.3 sealed on the glass.
