well i got some work finally done today, just a little. since my funds are not totally allowing me to do a substage i figured i myswell trying and better my front stage...
so i sold my id oem's, bought a set of peerless hds nomex 6.5's and am still running the seas alumi-domes bought i decided to move them to the a-pillar. i will be soon buying a set of peerless sls 8's and running them in the doors, with the nomex's in the kicks most likely.
if i feel i cant do that or it wont work, then i may be buying a set of smaller full range drivers and move those on the dash or in the doors.
well i guess we can move onto my progress. all i have right now is moving my tweeters to the a-pillar as my mids have a slightly larger cutout diameter so i have to modify that to get them to fit. they will be in soon.
i love them to, but all the a-pillar tweets i had were off axis, these are dead on (or as close as i could get them) and i wanna see what i can make em sound like, the best part about these pods are they will except up to a 2" tweeter, so i have alot of options i can go for as far as new ones go.
i made em this way so i can upgrade without having to redo anything, just swap and run
if you look at pic 7 you can see where i wrapped foam around the tweeter itself.
basically the foam was 1/4" tall X 3/4" wide and one side is sticky, so i cut it to length and stuck it on the back of the tweeter, squeezed it into the mounting cup, and its not going anywhere. but at the same time i can still take it out to swap tweeters.
I see, yeah thats a simple way to do it. I would like to run another set of comps, and put my tweets in the a pillar, but I hate cutting the car up and finding parts if I sell it
