Black People & Ghetto Culture

Jayrich, that right there is the truth for everyone, and I'm glad to see you say that. That honestly is the type of attitude we all need.

Why do we care what this basketball player says anyway? hes obviously not paid to write speeches, just to jump and shoot through a hoop. Our celebrity culture really needs to end, so we can get back to what really matters. I could give a shit about what these rich pricks have to say.

Why should celebrities and athletes make millions for doing nothing or playing GAMES.

It's so astronomical compared to what the average person makes.

Well it bugs me alot, cuz when i go to yahoo to open my mail up, i see the front page. More often than not its celebrity bull-ish. The other day, top story, over everything else happening in the world. A picture of Miley Cyrus and her "fashion disaster".....

Its enough to make me want to gouge my eyes out.

Thats Ignorance, I think when he made this statement, what he meant to say is that he represents ignorance. I'm a black man, and reguardless what your upbringing, once you are grown and have all the oppotunities presented to you that you never had and have all the moeny you could want, you reverting back to your previous situation instead of taking advantage of the oppurtunity to better your self and help the communites in which you were raised in to show and help them see that there is a way out, then thats plain ignorance and has nothing to do with being black
Just my 2 cents
i'm donating 2 cents to u also. i couldn'tna said it better

Ron Artest isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. With that said, his actions or comments shouldn't be taken as a true representation of black men. The same can be said in regards to our current Chief of Staff opening his mouth and once again shocking the nation when he strays away from written speeches. Artest comments can be taken from a psychological stand point to show the world how emotionally scarred he truly is. Artest is afraid that if he put down the "tough guy, street G mentality", he'll lose his edge and a survival tool that has elevated him to his current status in the NBA. The Houston Rockets management should be very afraid at this point lol, think back to the Latrell Spreewell issues the Knicks faced. If Ron Artest would be proactive in his own mental health he'd use his athletic ability, financial status and unlimited help to come to terms with the past--and make a clean start. Yet, I don't see this happening with his latest comment. If PETA doesn't get him first, I'm sure he'll make a huge mistake that will take away everything he's earned at this point in his life. Please understand, this isn't about race but it's about people growing up in bad situations with poor resources and unresolved emotional issues being placed in the public eye.
