the bl 18 calls for between 5-10 cubes per sub, thats a wide range to build from. I will be running 2 with 2 saz1500ds strapped on them. How many cubes should i run for daily use, no competing, tuned to around 32-34hz? I have more room than this, but only using half of cargo area, would 11-12 cubes gross be good? any suggestions, or will pay someone for box plan

i will tell you from experience with my set, and my buddies set.

my set 2 18 bl's in 11.5 cubes = ****** balls

my buddies 2 18 bl's in 12 cubes = ****** balls. lacked lowend, even tuned at 32. lots of upper end response though

new box and a single bl (7.5 cubes) = awesome, completely different woofer.

for this reason i wouldn't run anything less than 14 cubes (preferably 15 or so) for the pair.

after some more measuring i can run 24" H x 46.5" W x 30" D, should be around 16.5 cubes gross, after port and sub displacement, would that be better?

anything from about 14-16 cubes would be good IMO.

cool, thanks. may start building next week depending when i get the box plans. It will be 22" H x 48" W x 30.5" D which is 16 cubes gross. Should be ok after port and sub displacement. Wanting it tuned around 32hz, will just be daily work truck so probably wont ever see a comp unless just local stuff.
