Bioshock - new PC game

i was thinkin of buyin one of those $400 computer's off ebay with just the tower and nothing else, they have like 3 ghz, 180+ gigs, 2 gigs of ram but with no operating system

how would you go about installing an OS if theres no OS already on it? just pop in the windows cd and turn it on?

i was thinkin something like this, throw in a x800xt or something and it would be perfect for gaming

yup, than spend like 1-2 hours installing and configuring it. That computer doesn't sound like it rull anything since it doesn't come with a video card. and 3ghz can be celeron (which is the cheapest crappiest processor)

just pop in the windows cd and itll boot and run the install on your partition

big 3+ghz is 3ghz though, its not like one's 3ghz is better than another one? or is the amplifier way of thinking incorrect, that a sundown's 1000+rms is no different than a usamps 1000+rms , a watt is a watt

That's a pretty good budget gaming computer.

Wrong, memory cache is a HUGE thing. + Processors are alot more complicated, not just power = power kinda crap.

No 3ghz is not 3ghz amongst processors, specially when comparing AMD to Intel. The processor works differently.

You also have the internal cache with each processor, so like a cheapy celeron will have less cache than a Core2 Duo. More cache is better of course.

pretty pricey... (atleast for me to use on something for computer nerd'ing)

that will be everything i need? no need to buy out a new video card? i would be able to play battlefield2 full graphics and bioshock? dx10?

No directX10 cause its not vista, + I dont think the 7300 comes with Dx10 support. I said its a good budget gaming computer, that means u can run games and play them fine, but it doesnt mean everything on full graphics, U should be able to play bioshock with DX9.0L tho. U want a great gaming PC expect at least a good $1-2k investment.

what if i threw in a 6800 , then can i play full graphics? i mean it has like 2ghz, 2 gigs of ram, a nice video card and it should be game over right?
