Billa's 91 Tacoma mud truck build

FYI, duece and a half is military term, I will never be from the East. I can't stand other people and being in the Dakota Territory keeps them away from me:). Midwest born and raised on corn and soybeans, (and barley and wheat and durum and flaxseed and canola and sunflowers).

To expand my knowledge, if it isn't a Tacoma, what is it? (Not familiar with Yotas.)

Any updates OP?

looking nice, is it just your camera or whats that on the side of the truck?

#1: That ain't a Tacoma do0d.
#2: If you lift that 20" and throw 46" rubbers under it without doing a SAS, I'm going to break your neck so you can't move, and then force you to watch me **** your pets.

hehehehehe. we havent figured out the real technicalities yet..just a rough idea of what he WANTED to do.

and it WAS a tacoma

gonna be teh secksi if you finish it
yeah. guy turned into a douche. if yall are nice. MAYBE ill do a jeep wrangler build //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif:)

What're you regearing it to? What axles are you swapping out to?
2 1/2 ton military axels. comparable to rockwell axels

From what I see he's putting in 2.5 ton axles, so no IFS anymore for that taco, and a wider stance for the bog.
Subscribed
indeed. straight axel up front.

Looks like its gonna be a pretty sweet build I would love to get something along those lines to just mess around with, light small and big power. Gonna need a bigger trailer though when you throw the 2.5 ton axles on there. Those axles and the tractor tires probable weigh as much as that entire truck as it sits lol.
Floorboards look solid through, something ya don't see up here in MA *stupid rust belt*
body was in great shape actually..just the rest of the truck was crap. thats why it was prime candidate when we were looking as we were gunna rip everything off anyways. it was pretty much gunna be a toyota body only, with all chevy mechanics underneith.

and im in the process of welding one heavier duty trailor now..and another smaller one later. have all the axels and steel already, just need to find the time to weld it all up. dual torqueflex axels, 20ft long, 102 inches wide. 7000lbs payload cap.

Is that what duce and a half's means? Must be an East thing, because I don't see any reference to any SAS work.

in other words..BIG!

you got good knowledge //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

build abandoned. pondering starting a jeep build.

Was not. No such thing back then. That would be like calling a Willy's Flatfender a Wrangler.
P.S. Jeeps are way better anyhow. FTW!
you prob know better than i would. wasnt my truck, and came to my house debadged. it was on all the same framework and whatnot as a tacoma, but your right, it was named something different back then.

something about jeeps that i love. that and the real short wheelbase will be a definate advantage out in the woods.

Jeep build eh?

Nice choice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

YJ, TJ or XJ?

The Jeeps definitely have an advantage with the short wheelbase like you said, not to mention the 4.0 I6 is pretty much bullet proof. Would you be building the Jeep for the mud too? Or a trail rig?
