Hello everyone, first post here... ahh where to begin... I recently bought a deck and 2 speaker pairs. I only spent $380 Canadien ( thats with taxes, warrenty and wiring harness...) so i figured the install costs were over half what i paid for the stuff so i decided to do it myself. Annnnyway, the equipment is as follows...
deck - Panasonic Cq-c1110U 45x4 w max
4inch speakers - rockford fosgate frc4204 - 60w max
6 inch speakers - JVC cs-XV620 150w - max
Ok, so i got the deck in for the most part fine, but when i hook the speakers up they sound like they lack power, I can turn them fairly close to top and they have almost no bass, they sound kind of echoy... I am not sure if the connections are bad. Also, if the deck only puts out 180w and the stereo has max of 420 do i need an amp, and if so would the amp make the speakers sound better? I was also wondering how that worked, say the deck puts out 180 and if i bought a amp that had 250 and ran 4 speakers off that amp would the amp have 430? ( the 250 on its onw and the 180 from the deck?) I am doing this in a older car, 1990 colt... If anyone could gimmie any help i would really be greatful, and if i have not supplied enuf info feel free to reply and ill give all the info I can... thanks
