big three

so right now i just have 4 gauge running to my amp and 4 gauge ground to the bat and im getting some serious voltage drop when i come to a stop from about 14 to 10-9.So im guess i need to pick up some 1/0 gauge wire and do the big three.also does anyone have any pointers on wiring a Blazer 96.

look at the sticky in the wiring sectio it has pics and detailed ifo on how to do the big 3.

bat neg to chassis

bat pos to alt pos

engine block to chassis.

thats the gist of it

Could also be your alt not putting out enough power at idle. Throw a DMM on it and see what it's reading...

all right i will tomarro. i have my amp wired to a toggle and soon as i turn it on and it hits the loud notes boom 10-9 volts read on dash and amp but if its off just normal door speakers its fine never even moves

welding wire is just as good structurly, some dont like it because of its flexability, but cost more than makes up for it.

how did you set the gains on your amp? DMM?

Wait you're just going off of the gauge on in the dash? Put a multimeter on it during playing a song with a pretty constant bass line to see the actual voltage drop.
