When the ground goes from engine block to alternator casing, alternator casing to battery, the engine block is mounted to the frame and thus grounding the battery to the frame as a whole? Am I getting that right? But If my ground from alternator casing to engine block is to hard to re run could I also just drill a hole through the frame, and use a nut and bolt and paint over it once the wire has been connected? This route seems much easier but I am still lost. I just need to know If I could run the alt casing to frame, alt casing to bat. I already replaced one of the factory grounds with 0 ga that was right next to the batt(a 1 foot run)

 
edit: so i poked around, and there is no ground from engine to alt alt to bat. it goes bat to frame, bat to frame. I already ran 4 ga for on on my bat to frame, and a stock 8 ga is from bat to frame so im just going to replace those with 0 ga and should be set. After I fixed a loose ground up front voltage is at 14.02

 
You do Engine block to Chassis/Frame, Chassis/Frame to Batt Negative, Batt Positive to Alternator positive. you can also run a ground from the alternator casing to the batt or the engine block but most of the time its not necessary as the alternator case is metal and attached to the metal engine block lol. make sure to sand it good and bolt it on tight. Sounds like you get the gist though.
