Big Three iraggi alt

In the instructions for the iraggi alt it says that the wire should go from the back of the alt housing to the batt and from the back of the all to the body.on the big three forum it tells something different.What do I do?

well, in the big 3, you have a upgraded ground to the engine. you can ground the alty to the engine hence completing your ground.

in my case, i grounded to the engine and ran a ground to the battery.

If you ground the alt casing, it essentially takes the place of the block ground.

an engine has a lot of surface area already, an extra strap seems unnecessary

Hi Mike,

I grounded my Alt Case to the frame of my'89/Mustang.Some Alt. houusings or brackets may use rubber bushings or such for vibrations.And also don't forget that thew motore mounts are a Rubber Type Bushing also for vibrations,so hence it is NOT a good ground.You'd have to check and see.There may be a spare threaded bolt hole on the case of your alt. which is in your favor then/ .Of course use the same gauge cable for that as your Big 3.

If there are no rubber bushings on the alt. bracketry....than you can use the bracket bolt fro your ground,but.....make sure the area is clean from Oil/Dirt/Grease/Rust,and clean it good.Try to see if you can use the frame.
