Big Three Difference

Ok for those who dont believe me i will take a picture today. My alt is stock, the only thing i changed was i added 4 gauge engine to batt ground and 4 gauge chassis to batt ground and i moved my ground cable for amp to a better spot. 16 volts was at the amp
It doesn't matter what your DMM say's because something as small as your batteries in it being low can cause it to read wrong. You aren't getting 16 volt's unless something is wrong.

bad dmm. problem found it told me my batt was 14 volts with the car off... then when i turned the car on it dropped and kept changing last night tho it was a steady 16volts but seeing as my cars fine im pretty sure it was just giving me false readings... but now that i redid the grounds my amp never goes into voltage protect like it used to because my car would drop too much

big 3 now make me drop to low 13 while before i was dropping to 12.5ish at full tilt.

but there's something strange... it seems now that the alty only charge when i'm over 800rpm. At iddle, voltage does get up as it used to.

Per OEM electrical specs on my Silverado, my voltage is designed to fluctuate between 11.5V and 15.5V depending on load, temperature, etc.. So, you can get close to 16V without doing any damage...constant though would lead me to believe that somethin' ain't quite right. IMO.
