Big Sealed Boxes?

Hey. I need to build a box for my TC OEM10 that is long enough to hold the amp that will be powering it as well. Would it be okay to build a 2ft long box that is 1ft high and 1ft deep and seal it airtight? Would that be too big and would it sacrifice SQ?

That box will work but you will be limiting mechanical power handling. The sound will be pretty laid back and your low end should be enhanced some. It won't be as loud at the higher frequencies like a smaller sealed box will.

I think I will go for the large box (24" by 12" by 13"). And then I will build a sealed chamber inside the box that is 10" high 14" wide and 10" deep. After displacement of the sub, the volume turns out to be .45cf. Would this design be good?

Also, how hard is it to split MDF? I heard that you can split it by putting screws at the joints improperly. Could this be prevented by drilling pilots?

Splitting MDF is fairly easy. Pre-drill and you'll be fine.
