Big Problem!

I need help. I have 2 12" Visonik subs in a sealed box that i've been running for about a year. I hooked up a Viper 1200 to them about a month and a half ago. the gain was halfway up. Recently, the subs will play, but then all of a sudden they'll just stop for maybye like 5-10 seconds, and then play again. Sometimes they won't play for a second, skip a beat and then kick back on. I turned the gain almost to about 1/4 and it did the same thing. I turned it down a little bit more and it wasn't doing it anymore. My brother in-law say's that the subs could be blown. Is this true or possible? Help please, any suggestions? I have an 02 Acura TL

get a multi-meter and check for continuity...see if your coils are melted together.

maybe one of the wires hooked to the terminal is comming loose, and when they get jolted by the car movement (or somthing weird - crosion maybe) they get signal again.

try re-hooling the INSIDE wires in the box up to the speakers.
