Big problem...help!

alright today i was doing some tuoch-up wire hiding in my 98 2.3cl i just got. so i disconnected my cables running to my amp and proceded to hide wires. well, when i hooked them back up i thought i should just do a test to be sure it was all good, my sub made one loud thump and then my amp went into protection mode, and it did this over and over. now, my speakers dont work, but my radio is on and keeping track of the time on the song playing. no fuses were blown (that i could find).

My setup: bose audio speakers, 1600 watt amp, 2800 watt 15" sub wired to 2 ohms. thanks in advance

What actual equipment are you using? a 1600w amp could be, say a $1000 amp or a a $75 pyle pos.

sounds like something shorted - amp is probably shot

oh sorry, it's power akoustics "performance" brand called SPL. i have two of the same amp. i thought that to be the problem as well so i swapped it out with my other amp and nothing changed. i had both amps on the one 15 for a long time in my other accord until somebody hit me and totalled it. any more comments would be greatly appreciated.
