big power 6.5in mid driver recomendations

I have been using my psg rds's for a while now and cant fault them but I want to try something that can handle tons of power.

I have just installed my JBL GTO 75.4 amp which I've had sitting for ages and replaced my old amp with this one.

I have bridged the amp to provide 284w rms into each speaker. I now want to find out if you can tell me what 6.5in mid drivers I can use with this ammount of power as I like my set loud and want something that can take it.

Im running active by the way.

I dont usaully. Its just that this amp can be bridged to run 284rms p/channel. It is a 4 channel amp tho at 104rms p/channel.

Im just looking for a set of 6.5 drivers that can take a beating not to kill them tho but dont have a clue what to look for

So lets see, you want a set of components or just some 6.5" midbass drivers?

Not too many coaxials can handle a bunch of power, but the ID OEM's (6.5" midbass drivers) can handle a bunch of power, I had 180 on them and they seemed like they can take some more.

haha i have teh same amp.. i've blown 3 sets of speakers with this amp bridged, i heard boston acoustics (forget which model) can handle a ton of power tho.. but look into that cause im not 100% sure

I hope I dont blow my rsd's with this amp. I hooked it up yesterday eve and this thing has got some power bridged man. Im being very very careful with the gains a t the moment. They are turned right down. I just want to get some really powerful mids asap

well 280+ watts is alot of power for mids.. esp ones running in an IB setup (doors) without bottoming out

you're gonna have to find something with a big voice coil, decent excursion, and a stiff suspension

If you actually want to use all that power, look into some Morel mids...big VC's that can handle a ton of power.
