You had better have access to an RTA.

That looks like the perfect instrument nessasary to introduce noise into a system as well as completly screw up your sound without an RTA to set it as squeak already pointed out. I would just leave it where it is.

yeah.... i don't have a rta myself but a friend has one in his home studio. i'm really reconsidering this too... maybe i should get a 3sixty.2 and call it a day.... anyways thanks for the help

I just have never seen a MA audio piece that wasnt a disapointment, and I didnt have high expectations to start with. The threesixty.2 is a far superior piece in my opinion as well

but since the new computer software for the 3sixty is coming out, i might as well try it.

It shouldn't be too hard to set by ear...just get a couple of extra 12 ft RCA's and some RCA barrell adapters and lengthen the power wires so yu can adjust it from the drivers seat...then demo all sorts of music through it...after you set it...That's it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif you can re mount it back in the trunk and you are good to go...make sure your radio tone controls and loudness are set flat while adjusting so it gives you a little play afterwards...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You would be MUCH better off with something like the 360.2

Real Time Analyzer. Gives a read out of how loud specific bandwiths are. You can buy an RTA package for the Term Lab for like $250 or something like that. I dont know how much stand alone RTA's are. 7 Band is enough to get decent sound in most systems. 12 band or 18band is a bung load of adjustability when you think about it. If you know how to use a parametric EQ a 7 band one will give a lot of adjustement as well.
