Big Enough Alternator

Hi hoping someone can help me out, I have an 06 dodge ram 2500 5.7, I have a 136 amp alt, with an optima yellowtop under the hood, will this push a DC 1.2 k at 1 ohm just fine? Will be powering 2 Sundown SA-12s in a foxbox. Thanks

Yes. You should be fine.

If not. you can always upgrade the front battery to the biggest xs power you can fit.

or add a 2nd.

I'd do a big 3, but other than that you should be good to go.

^^Start with this here^^,and see how she does,if more power is needed,you may add another batt, and or both a batt, and ho alt in the future for more power needs.

My alt is 130 amp and I used to run an MB Quart 1200.1 @ 1 ohm with no problems. I'd get a little voltage drop but not too bad. And that was with a POS battery under the hood. I would do the Big 3 though just to be safe.... I was always too lazy to do it.

Ok cool thanks just wanted to make sure, based on the other replies ill look at doing big 3 if I get too much voltage drop
