Big Difference between Pioneer Champion series and Champion Pro?

So im planning my audio set up (Getting my first car within a month) and am looking at an all pioneer set up, with a Pioneer GM-D8500M Amp powering either 1 Champion series sub or 1 Champion series pro. Considering going with the Champion in a sealed enclosure but am unsure

These will most likely be in a medium sized cars trunk, so SQ isnt too much of a concern here

if your after volume over sq, i'd prob suggest you go for a ported box

would it be ok to underpower these slighlty with a ported box? The amp pushes 600W at 2 Ohms, and the Sub's RMS is 800W at 2 ohms

EDIT: If i get a ported box, cu. ft doesnt matter right?? Only if its a vented box?
