Big Boxes.

It's like a nother small enclosure within an enclosure really. Whats the volume displacement of say a 50in^2 slot vs a 50in^2 aero?

Its not port volume your describing, its port area

thats the point of aero's they are more efficient(using true areos with flared ends).

the general rules are 12-16"^2 per cube for slot port

~8"^2 per cube for aeros

so since you need less port area, then the thickness of the aero is less than 3/4"mdf, you gain usable volume

A L port can take up quite a bit of the box, especially for low tuned ones. Using aeros take up less room because you don't have to have as much port area to achieve the same air flow as a L port/slot port/whatever.
